Stability & Core Hardening (Major Quality Release)
- GPU Device-Loss Recovery: Implemented crash-safe startup and automatic hardware device-loss fallback (#4, #243, #252), fixing black-canvas and driver crash anomalies.
- Dynamic 4K UI Scaling: Added automatic and smooth UI scaling for High-DPI / 4K monitors (#225), replacing the previous rigid 100%/200% steps.
- Linux Dependency Verification: Integrated an automatic startup self-check (#201) that prints missing Wayland/X11 runtime library names instead of silently failing.

- Format Warnings: Added clear warnings when opening truncated JPEGs or when maximum PSD channel limits discard quick masks (#115).
- CLI Guardrail: The
photocraft-cli batchcommand now blocks overwriting source input folders to prevent accidental data loss.

- Eraser Tools: Added native Magic Eraser and Background Eraser tools.
- Brush & Asset Import: Native Photoshop
.abrbrush import with stylus pressure and tilt support; 36 grouped presets included. Added Photoshop.grdgradient palette import. - Camera RAW Engine: Native decoding for Canon CR2, Sony ARW (lossless & compressed), Panasonic RW2, Olympus ORF, and Adobe DNG.
- WASM Plugin Architecture: Initial release of the sandboxed WebAssembly plugin API (
Filter → Plug-ins). - Color Pipeline: Color-managed canvas (sRGB, Display P3, Adobe RGB, ProPhoto, CMYK), Select Color Range dialog, and Blend If in Layer Styles.
⚠️ Upgrade Notes for v0.2.0+:
- Automation and MCP command access are now fail-closed by default. You must supply explicit whitelist directory flags (
--automation-read-rootand--automation-write-root) or set corresponding environment variables. - The desktop control channel requires passing the per-launch security token generated in the terminal.
